1、霍金身残志坚

1959年17岁的霍金入读牛津大学的大学学院攻读自然科学用了很少时间而得到一等荣誉学位，随后转读剑桥大学研究宇宙学1963年被诊断患有肌肉萎缩性侧索硬化症即运动神经病。

当时，医生诊断他只能活两年。他在手术过后的几天又写下了世界名著《时间简史》，奇迹般的活下来。但在往后数十年逐渐全身瘫痪并失去了说话能力。

少年时霍金并不好学。1970年代初霍金与彭罗斯合作发表论文指出如果广义相对论是正确的，那么宇宙大爆炸前必然有奇点存在成为首篇重要文章随后成为少数认真看待黑洞的学者。

他结合了量子力学及广义相对论于1974年3月1日霍金在《自然》提出黑洞发出一种能量最终导致黑洞蒸发该能量被命名为霍金辐射引起全球物理学家重视。

霍金的新发现被认为是多年来理论物理学最重要的进展。该论文被称为“物理学史上最深刻的论文之一”。
